It was built by the great Akbar, as the main residence of the royal family but now it is a museum which hosts the belongings of Mughals. The walls of this fortified city are so thick that they cannot be penetrated by anything.

It was the first planned city by Mughals which was built in 16th century by Great Akbar. It was served as the capital city of the Mughal Empire for 10 years. Buland Darwaza, Diwan-i-Khaas and Dargah of Salim Chisti are the main attractions of this place.
